Pharmacy Technician Facility: Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia Department: Pharmacy Schedule: Part Time Shift: Day Shift Hours: 7AM -3:30PM/ 24 hours per week Job Details: - High School Diploma Required, Associate Degree Preferred Basic Functions: Assists the Registered Pharmacists in performing a variety of technical duties related to the packaging and distribution of drugs to patients. Provides care/treatment to Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients. Fills in-patient drug orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Maintain appropriate stock levels on nursing units and within the Pharmacy. Completes stock drug request for units. Restocks automated dispensing machines. Responsible for labeling and pre-packing medications. Delivers medications to nursing units as needed. Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness within the Pharmacy Department. Performs documenting and record keeping tasks for controlled substances. Responsible for medication charges and credits. Will perform unit inspections including checking for medication expiration dates. Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent Must have current certification (CPhT) or be eligible with the Board of Pharmacy State Licensed as Pharmacy Tech in South Carolina Preferred Qualifications: Post high school education Hospital pharmacy experience Pharmacy technician certification Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminology Proficient with computers
