Pediatric Hospice Home Care RN Department: GILCHRIST KIDS 293 Schedule: Part Time Shift: Varies Hours: Job Details: * The PediatricHospice Home Care Nurse reports to the Pediatric Program Manager. He/she is responsible forassessing andidentifying patient/family care needs, for providing nursing and supportive care for the terminally illneonatal, pediatric & adolescentpatient and their families/caregivers,and for working cooperativelyto integrate multidisciplinary goals.
Education Diploma, ADN and/or BSN from an accredited institution
Experience One to two years of pediatricnursing. Home Health or Hospice experience preferredbut not required. Skills · Knowledgeable of universal precautions for infection control and practices safe nursing standards for self protection · Strong time management skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · Ability to be patient and family focused and provide necessary education to both · Skill in the use of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) · Knowledge of pertinent regulatory requirementsand capitalizes on personal growthand development opportunities through related formal and informal education programs.
Licensures, Certifications · Current MD nursing license. · Certification in end-of-life care by the NBHPNA within three years of employment.
Physical Requirements · Ability to stand and walk almost constantly up to ninety 90% of work time and lifting and positioning patients up to fifty 50% of work time. · Ability to perform home care visitsincluding climbinb steps. · Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail and often in stressful situations.
