Patient Care Technician III Department: CCU Schedule: Full-time FTE 0.9 -1.0 Shift: PM Hours: PM/8 HRS/ROTATING/WEEKEND WORK Job Details: **Nurse Tech, Phlebotomy and EKG** This position performs patient care activities and other tasks to assist the nursing staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse. All employees are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Palmetto Health's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork. Patient Care Technician III performs three (3) of the following jobs routinely1) Nurse Tech: Provides direct patient care as assigned, 2) EKG Tech: Performs electrocardiogramas directed. Assist nurse with management of holter monitor and 3) Phlebotomy: Performs patient phlebotomy as assigned. Requirements: Education: High school diploma plus 1-2 years specialized training, Experience: 2 years of experience as NT/NA preferred, 6 months to 1 year as an EKG technician, as well as 3 months related experience or certificate in phlebotomy from accredited program; LICENSURE, REGISTRY, OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: C.N.A. certification upon hire or within 18 months of employment, BLS mandatory as well as CCT certification preferred; BLS mandatory; Special Training: Completion of a SC DHHS approved C.N.A. program. Successful completion of Nurse Aide/Tech orientation, Knowledge of basic anatomy of cardiovascular system; ability to perform mobile EKG at bedside, Certificate from accredited phlebotomy program as well as *successful completion of Unit Secretary orientation.* EEO/AA
