Patient Care Technician II Department: Medical Nursing - 10 E Schedule: Full-time FTE 0.9 -1.0 Shift: PM Hours: PM/12 HRS/ON CALL/WEEKEND WORK Job Details: **Unit Secretary & Nurse Tech** This job performs patient care activities and other tasks to assist the nursing staff under the direction of a registered nurse. Patient Care Technician II performs two (2) of the following jobs routinely: 1) Unit Secretary - performs clerical duties for a nursing unit(s) & 2) Nurse Tech - provides direct patient care as assigned. All employees are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Palmetto Health's values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork. Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Experience: 2 years experience as a nurse tech preferred, clerical experience preferred. Must have good communication skills and experience working with behavioral health patients; Licensure, Certification or Registry required: CNA certification, BLS mandatory; Special Training: Completion of a SC DHHS approved CNA program. Successful completion of Nurse Aide/Tech orientation as well as successful completion of Unit Secretary orientation. EEO/AA
