Operations Manager - Tax Services
The role of TIRS Operations Manager is an essential one in forming and implementing the Daily Operations Workflows to support the Data Delivery side of this business and to support the Tax Outsourcing opportunity. This position will be instrumental in the success of reaching critical mass for the current offering and exploring process/technology efficiencies to deliver accurate and encompassing data / transaction processing applications. Goals: Success will be measured by the ability to develop tight search and operations procedures that contribute to the daily processing of Tax Information Reporting Services. Performance and achievement is measured and communicated via a MBO process and annual reviews. Ongoing feedback is provided. Interactions: This position communicates with senior executives at client firms, market participants, internal sales, finance, technology, senior executives, and support staff in order to gather information necessary to manage the business.
Education: College Graduate or or equivalent experience.
Experience: 7-10+ years experience specializing in tax information reporting and withholding in the Financial Services Industry. Knowledge of tax information processing for Fixed Income Securities, specifically OIDs and REMICs, as well as REITs, RICs, UITs and MLPs. Detailed knowledge of brokerage/securities industry required. Detailed knowledge of brokerage back-office processing and/or tax processing for original issue discount securities, regulated investment company and real estate investment trust payment reallocations and real estate mortgage investment conduits is required. Candidate should possess knowledge and experience in product management and/or sales presentations and RFP processing. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to lead in a matrix environment. Strong writing skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities given tight deadlines. Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment while relying on output from others. Strong business acumen, particularly concerning financial institution operations.
Language: Applicant must be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
