Job Summary:
Under the direction of the RN, the Surgical/Operating Room Technologist (ORT/CST) is a member of the surgical team who works with the Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, RN's and other personnel to perform delegated patient care duties in the Operating Room according to the standards of the profession and the policies and procedures of the Hospital and the Surgical Department. The ORT/CST performs routine scrub as well as specifically delegated duties according to AORN and regulatory standards. The ORT/CST is responsible for keeping current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum two years experience with one year recent acute care experience

Must also have recent orthopedic or neurology experience

All candidates must be a certified surgical technologist who has passed the Certification/Recertification Examination issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)

Current American Heart Association BLS
