As a Primary Stroke Center accredited by the Joint Commission, we are committed to ensuring our patients have access to the highest levels of stroke care available. Our Neuro Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed ICU, offering exceptional care for the Neuro/Stroke patients we serve.
Number of Staff: 20
Skill Mix: RNs and Critical Care Patient Care Technicians
Major Equipment Used: Standard Critical Care Equipment; ICP monitors; Lumbar drains
Special Certifications Needed: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (available online at
Qualifications
Current licensure as an RN.
Prior experience in Critical Care required.
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS through the American Heart Association; NIHSS certification or Advanced Stroke Life Support certification also required.
Customer service abilities including effective communication skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
