Nurse - Registered (RN) - San Jose, California US
Unit: Labor & Delivery
Job Summary: This is a 13 week travel assignment. In this position, you will evaluate, plan, and administer nursing care to patients. You will provide prescribed medication and treatment, help physicians during exams and treatment, and monitor and record patient condition, notifying physician when appropriate. You will also monitor patient care provided by LPNs, CNAs, and others.
Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM 8 Hour shifts. 64 to 80 hrs per pay period.
Minimum Requirements: Completion of nursing school and state license. 4 year's recent acute care experience. Must have ACLS, BLS, NRP & AWHONN. Must be able to pass EKG test. High volume & high risk L & D Unit. Able to manage pre - term labor patients on magnesium sulfate. Manage induction with pitocin; attend high risk delivers. String critical thinking skills. Knowledge of the requirements for the EMTALA. Charge nurse & previous HCA experience preferred. Experience circulating & scrubbing for c - sections. Documentation systems - must have experience with computer based documentation program, preferably QS (GE Centricity Perinantal) & Meditech electronic medication scanning.
