We are currently seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to join our employee health center located in Corpus Christi, TX. This position is on an as needed basis covering for vacation and absences.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide occupational health services (i.e., occupational surveillance exams, medical monitoring, and Worker's Compensation medical guidance)
• Conducts histories and physical examinations for acute episodic care and prescribes medications and/or medical treatments based on best practice standards
• Develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients; educates and advises on medical issues as needed
• Provides referrals both internally and externally to appropriate medical resource or specialty
• Identifies emergency situations and provides care within legal scope of practice and as defined by Take Care Health privileging process
• Maintains medical records (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software)

Requirements

• Masters Degree required
• Minimum of two year's clinical experience as a Practitioner in an occupational health, or emergency department setting is strongly preferred
• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas. Nationally certified as a Family, Adult or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the AANP or ANCC
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• Appropriate certification to write prescriptions under the authority of the Site Medical Director, if allowed within state of practice.
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas Certified as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA or AAPA
