The Heinzerling Foundation is looking for a Therapy Assistant (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant) Qualifications for Therapy Assistant: Graduate of a 2-year accredited occupational therapy assistant physical therapy assistant program Currently licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers in Ohio First Aid and CPR Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with a variety of people Job Responsibilities of Therapy Assistant: Assists in the provision of therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed therapist in accordance with prevailing state laws and national regulations ; (PTA under PT) Participates and complies with the policies of the therapy department and the Heinzerling Foundation under the supervision of the Director of Therapy. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Implements therapeutic programs and treatment within the instruction and guidelines established by the therapist; notifies therapist of progress or changes. Implements therapeutic programs and treatment which include but are not limited to positioning, mobility, motor development, orthopedic status, adaptive equipment, and feeding Designs, constructs, and monitors resident use of adaptive equipment, orthotic devices, wheelchairs, and mobility and positioning devices; informs therapist of resident needs, changes and progress in these areas.
