Occupational Summary Performs professional nursing care for patients in a primary care setting (the home or alternate care site) according to nursing practices, agency policies and regulations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Computer skills required with Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred Valid NC Drivers License Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Certification/Licensure as required by regulatory agencies. Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, including JCAHO and DFS standards ICD-9 Coding. Considerable knowledge of professional nursing techniques, practices and procedures. Ability to assess physical, psycho, social and emotional needs of patients. Age Specific Competencies Duke HomeCare & Hospice cares for patients across the age spectrum of neonates to geriatrics. (patients include Adult population (18+ years of age) in all clinical programs, Pediatric patients (2-17 years of age) in the Home Infusion and Home Health Rehab services, and Infants (0-2 years of age) in the Home Infusion program. Nurses will demonstrate age specific competencies for all age groups they are assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Work requires graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Experience Work requires no previous experience. Two years med-surgical, critical care or home health experience preferred.
