Authorized Hours - Minimum: Per Two Weeks 0 Authorized Hours - Maximum: Per Two Weeks Work Hours: Work Hours/Schedule (For Example: 7:00am-3:30pm or Every other weekend) variety Primary Function: & Major Responsibilities To perform MRI exams, screen and monitor patient care in the MRI environment, and to assist the Radiologist in implementation of MRI protocols.
Performs quality patient care in MRI environment.
Adopts and complies the basic MRI physics in the non-ionizing environment to understand the applications and indications of MRI scan protocols.
Operates MRI equipment accurately and reports all problems to supervisor immediately.
Monitors and maintains established protocols with Radiologists at all locations.
Specifically documents all scan parameters, ICD-9 coding, and billing charges daily and for each exam.
Trains and advises new employees to routine protocols and filming.
Practices proper safety precautions in the magnet environment and informs patients, staff and visitors according to established guidelines.
Reviews, organizes and distributes patient paperwork, films, duplicates, and file jackets to Radiologist for interpretation.
Ensure speed and quality of service in report turnaround to referring physicians.
Maintains neat and orderly work areas (e.g. exam room, supply area, scan area, computer area, and adjacent work areas) daily according to established guidelines.
Distributes and maintains supplies at all locations.
Monitors and controls quality assurance for MRI equipment and processors at all locations.
Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology; ARRT registered or registry eligible. Willing to become MRI Registered within 1 year.
Experience: Minimum three years MRI scanning experience required.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work closely in small group area. Strong problem solving skills Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and medical terminology Ability to use computers and develop organizational and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (neonatal through geriatric). Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
