Performs and reports results of a variety of chemical, serological, hematological, immuno-hematological, and microscopic tests and procedures to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease following established laboratory procedures and protocols. Performs the most complex testing. Assists in the training of MLT students.
BS degree in biology, zoology, allied health, medical technology, or equivalent with certification as Medical Technologist by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent; or a high school diploma with documented laboratory training and certification as Medical Technologist by American Medical Technologist (AMT) or Medical Laboratory Technician by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with classification of medical technologist by HEW is required. One-year of experience preferred.
