Job Details:
Job Summary: Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Attendant is responsible for performing designated tasks and data gathering commensurate with their training and in accordance with defined policies and procedures. The Mental Health Attendant is also responsible for for maintaining the safety and dignity of those patients in the Special Care Unit and intervening appropriate to prevent and/or control crisis situations. The Mental Health Attendant also assists the RN in the administration of ECT.
Job Requirements: High School education or GED. Completion of courses related to child development at a collegiate or vocational level is preferred. Certification on the WI Nursing Assistant registry required. CPR Certification within 90 days of hire. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)within 6 months of hire. Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred working with emotionally distributed children and adolescents preferred.
