Basic Purpose Of The Job
The Medication Review Technician functions as a key support position to assist the pharmacist in collecting and compiling a complete patient medication history. He/she also establishes and maintains a highly positive relationship with co-workers, patients, families and the public.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education § High School graduation degree or equivalent. § Completion of or current enrollment in a certified Technician Training Program.
Minimum Work Experience §Two years recent retail/out-patient pharmacy experience preferred, with emphasis on entering prescriptions into a pharmacy software system.
Required Licenses/ Certifications § Washington State Pharmacy Assistant license, prior to obtaining Technician license, or § Washington State Pharmacy Technician license § BLS certification within one year of employment
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities § Excellent verbal and written communication skills. § Knowledge & experience with drug names, dose forms, dosages preferred. § Bi-lingual preferred. § Computer skills. § Knowledge of outpatient medical billing procedures and coding. § Strong organizational skills. § Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds.
