Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Tech (MLT) Department: Chemistry Schedule: per diem Shift: Days and Evenings Hours: On Call Weekend Requirement: As Needed on Weekends Holiday Requirement: Occasional Holidays Job Details: Statement of Purpose: (MED Tech) Under direction, collects, tests, and stores blood; administers transfusions, and maintains records of blood donations or transfusions; performs blood bank procedures. Performs chemical/hematological/serological/immunological tests via instrumentation or manual means on body fluids and exudates from hospital patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating diseases. Cultivates, isolates, and assists in identifying bacterial and other microorganisms present in body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, or autopsy and surgical specimens and performs various bacteriological, mycological, virological, and parasitological test to provide data an cause and progress of disease. Qualifications: 1. Education: Bachelor's of Science, Medical Technology or equivalent. 2. Certification / License: MT ASCP or equivalent. 3. Experience: 0-2 year's of working experience in a laboratory that has a high complex laboratory automation system. New grads welcome.
