Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician Req #: B11327 Department: Laboratory Schedule: Per Diem Shift: Evening and Night Shifts Hours: flexible Job Details: Posted 7-21-11 Under the direction of the Team Leader and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, the Technologist performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties associated with Clinical Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology, Blood Bank and Radioassay. Obtains and receives specimens, performs testing by standardized procedures, understands methods, principles, theory, performs quality control, perform preventative maintenance and interprets results as to accuracy and acceptability. Works independently, organizes work to meet deadlines and records all data obtained. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS for Medical Technologist: Bachelor's Degree and Bachelor's level ASCP (e.g. MT, BB, etc.) or equivalent registration or application for registration required. If employee does not meet registration requirements within ASCP deadlines, they will be terminated. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six months to one (1) year experience as an MT preferred. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS for Medical Laboratory Technician: Associates degree and MLT (ASCP) or equivalent registration required or may be registry eligible.
