Performs quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory testing on biological specimens using state of the art instrumentation to provide information to physicians to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Analyzes, evaluates, and reports valid and accurate patient results in a timely manner. Working as a team with physicians, nurses, and other allied health individuals, coordinates testing, correlates results, and/or promotes understanding of test availability for the benefit of the patient. Provides on-call coverage to support Transplant Services as indicated by assigned work area. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities. In addition to providing testing for Mayo Clinic hospital and group practice patients, also provides reference laboratory services for other clinics and hospitals in the United States.

Qualifications: To qualify as a Medical Technologist II the following is required: Bachelors Degree (Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, and Lab Sciences) or Bachelors degree with medical technology clinical internship is required. Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification or equivalent and Florida State Clinical Technologist license in chemistry, hematology, and serology.
