Medical Office Specialist Department: Tangipahoa Parish Clinics - Multiple Locations Schedule: Shift: Hours: Various Locations and Schedules Available Job Details: Positions Available at the Following Locations: North Oaks Family Medicine - Hammond (Full-Time) North Oaks Neurology Clinic (Full-Time) North Oaks Ophthalmology Clinic (Full-Time) Northshore Internal Medicine (Full-Time) Occupational Health (Full-Time) Experience, Knowledge and Skill Previous Experience Required: Minimum of one year experience and working knowledge of clinic front desk operations, consisting of customer service, computer data entry, excellent telephone skills, and pleasant personality OR completion/certification of billing/coding course required. Typing of 50 WPM and medical terminology preferred. Specialized or Technical Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to speak clearly and concisely with a pleasant voice. Ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Manual or Physical Skill Required: Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, copiers, and such other office equipment as is necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contact. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods.
