The Medical Office Specialist provides general Medical Assistant assistance to Internal Medicine physicians in an outpatient setting within the hospital. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served. In addition, the staff member demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. Every MFC employee is expected to support the goals and mission of MFC, in particular the commitment to providing all patients easy access to high quality care, service and value. MFC requires that all employees uphold its mission, including confidentiality of all patient and financial information and treating all patients with dignity and compassion. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. One year experience in a medical office setting preferred. Must possess CPR-Healthcare Provider Level certification. Demonstrated ability to accurately take patient vital signs. Familiarity with computers and computer keyboard preferred. Must be able to use telephone, fax machine, copier, typewriter, personal computer and peripherals, EKG machine and other medical equipment as required by the practice.
