Medical Laboratory Specialist

Are you results oriented? Then a career as a Medical Laboratory Specialist could let you provide the results doctors and nurses need to provide treatment to their patients.

In order to detect and identify many patient diseases, clinical laboratory tests need to be performed. The Medical Laboratory Specialist conducts tests on the tissue, blood, and body fluids of patients. Medical Laboratory Specialists examine blood and bone marrow samples, test for bacteria or viruses, and analyze tissue, blood, and fluid specimens for diagnostic information.

Health care related fields are some of the most wide open and promising career fields available today. Use your Medical Laboratory Specialist experience to prepare for a future with privately owned laboratories, hospitals, clinics, or research institutions.

Earn while you learn
Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.

Job training for Medical Laboratory Specialist consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 26 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of both classroom and field work.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications. Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability. Benefits subject to change.
