Medical Director, The Center for Autism, Philadelphia, (), a 501(c)3, is the nation’s oldest evaluation & treatment center for autism. With an annual budget of $11M, 2 sites, multiple programs, & 130 staff, the Center continues to deliver core services while exploring expansion. The Center is seeking a collaborative Medical Director with education & expertise in autism, psychiatric oversight and administration, research funding, senior management experience, and a passion for serving children & families. The Medical Director must be a Child Psychiatrist who is an innovative, strategic, creative thinker to work collaboratively with the senior management team & staff to drive the Center’s mission and enhance its long-standing reputation as a renowned service provider. The Center for Autism is the oldest specialized autism treatment center in the nation, evaluating and treating individuals with a range of Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Since its founding in 1955 by Bertram A. Ruttenberg, M.D., the Center has been on the cutting edge of autism evaluation and therapy, applying state-of-the-art theories to real-world practice. Today, these approaches are replicated across the nation and world.  The Center has garnered national recognition from the American Psychiatric Association for its leadership in the field; created a model for  integrating young children with autism in school settings now replicated by school districts across the country; and was involved in two landmark legal cases that resulted in major public policy changes to the benefit of children with autism.
