At the direction of the licensed physician, performs patient care services, assists the physician and other medical staff with patient visits and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. In addition, will be required to perform some front desk work, which may include telephone work, patient scheduling and ordering of supplies. If applicable, phlebotomy responsibilities include the collection and processing of specimens such as blood, urine, pap smears, and cultures.

Graduated from an accredited school providing certification for medical assistant.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
CPT/ICD-9 coding and medical terminology knowledge is necessary.
Group/Individual insurance plan coverage knowledge is preferred.
Must be able to operate general office equipment.
Current CPR certification or completion of certification within six months of hire.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC) is preferred.
If applicable, graduated from an accredited school providing certification for phlebotomist.
