Martha Jefferson Hospital has volunteers in nearly all departments throughout the organization. Our volunteers have the desire to help others and be involved in helping their community. Our mission in Volunteer Services is to enhance the mission, vision and values of the Martha Jefferson community by: * Cultivating an atmosphere of trust, honesty and integrity * Recognizing the worth of each and every volunteer * Expanding services through funding, creativity and innovation * Attracting and retaining volunteers who are able to meet our mission * Training volunteers and educating them on health care issues * Encouraging and developing leadership
Some of our current volunteer opportunities include: * Information Desk - Rucker Lobby (mornings and substitutes) * Patient Access - Outpatient Care Center (Monday - Friday) * Blue Ridge Internal Medicine (varies) * Health and Wellness (preferably Wednesday - 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) * Substitutes (location varies and special projects/events) Martha Jefferson Volunteers are guided by these fundamental values in order to achieve our mission: * Ethical Behavior * Courtesy * Confidentiality * Teamwork * Efficiency * Adaptability The requirements to become a Martha Jefferson Volunteer include: * Complete Volunteer Application * Attend a 2 hour Volunteer Orientation * TB Test * Interview with Department Manager * Excellence customer service skills and caring nature * Dependable and flexible * Confidentiality
