Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated ability to read and writeLicense/Certifications: Certification as Nurse Assistant, BLSExperience: (1.) Minimum one year previous hospital or nursing home experience, or (2.) enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has successfully completed the introductory med/surg clinical practicum, or (3.) Holds current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Responsibilities: The Critical Care Associate (CCA) is a support position that has elements of both direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the RN for the patients on a unit, or for specific patients/patient care needs. The CCA has a primary role in ensuring excellence in customer service. The CCA is responsible for the clerical activities of the unit related to accurate and timely transcription, entry of physician and nursing order. Operates the hospital's computer system in the assigned department. Maintains a clean, organized and efficiently stocked nursing station. In addition, the CCA may be assigned to perform tasks that are not within the primary duties, but for which they have demonstrated competency. Martha Jefferson employees are expected to treat coworkers, patients and customers with courtesy, respect and consideration; keep patient and business information confidential; and promote teamwork to accomplish department and organizational objectives. Martha Jefferson employees are expected to maintain a safe work environment to minimize risk; to ensure a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment for all patients, visitors, volunteers, staff and physicians at all Martha Jefferson facilities and to contribute to a culture which values safety, disclosures of errors, and process improvement consistent with the Martha Jefferson mission, services, and regulatory environment. Martha Jefferson employees are able to assess and provide care for all patients who receive care at our facility without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship status, physical or mental disability or veteran status. Department Managers work in an interdisciplinary manner with members of other departments to assure that all patients with the same health status shall be treated with a consistent level of care hospital-wide.
