Job Description
The Manager Medical Information will provide clinical and technical information to external and internal customers related to the Fluid Systems solutions and container product lines. The Manager Medical Information will have clinical knowledge of these products and is responsible for all aspects of Medical Information support of these products.
1. Provide high quality, balanced and timely clinical, medical, and scientific information upon the request of external Baxter healthcare professionals as well as internal Baxter functional areas such as clinical development, marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, R&D, and legal.
2. Evaluate the nature of medical inquiries and using appropriate sources (e.g. prescribing information, literature searches) responds verbally or in writing to customers
3. Represents medical function and reviews and approves US advertising and promotion material (including brochures, sales training material, etc.) for medical accuracy.
4. Assist in creating/maintaining/updating a database of standard response letters and other correspondence that respond to the requests of internal and external customers.
5. Maintain working and current knowledge of published medical literature, disease states and their treatments related to relevant Baxter products.
6. Develop a basic understanding and maintain current knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements related to product support.
7. Assist Baxter's regulatory and quality groups by providing clinical input into the evaluation of product complaints and adverse events when requested.
8. Provide support for medical information booths at conferences.
9. Assumes other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Global Medical Information
Job Requirements
•Clinically skilled, licensed health care professional in Pharmacy.
•Minimum of 5 years clinical experience or equivalent.
•Pharmaceutical/Device industry experience preferred.
•Excellent medical writing and oral communication skills
•Ability to search and summarize medical literature/data accurately and appropriately
•Able to participate in a cross-functional team approach.
•Team-oriented
•Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage conflict situations as well as a demonstrated record of responsible actions.
•Self motivated with exceptional follow-through
•Solid knowledge of FDA regulations for medical communications
