As a Certified Nursing Assistant, while under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, carry out nursing care measures as delegated, and assist residents with general hygiene such as bath, shower, grooming, and mouth/denture care. You will also assist with elimination via urinals, bedpans, bowel and/or bladder programs, and may collect urine and stool specimens. You may also be asked to assist with post mortem care.
Your contributions to resident care will include assisting and preparing our residents for meals, including feeding, as well as assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of residents.
Additional responsibilities will include transporting or walking our residents as requested, and making beds (both occupied and unoccupied).
As a front line member of the nursing team, you may be called upon to provide emotional support to residents and families as well as assist in care planning and give/take report on assigned residents. You will maintain records and inventories, as well as answer phones as requested, return equipment and ensure it is properly labeled. And very importantly, maintain a clean and safe unit/environment for our residents and your co-workers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certification by the state of Georgia as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Experience in a long term, geriatric health care facility preferred. Ability to read and understand written English words and sentences. Ability to do heavy lifting and moving of residents. Experience in a geriatric/long term care facility/Alzheimer's unit a plus. Minimum Hourly $ 9.62 Minimum Annual $ 20009.6 Midpoint Hourly $ 11.82 Midpoint Annual $ 24585.6
