Position Summary: Responsible for the professional nursing care of residents. Provides basic therapeutic nursing care according to established standards of practice under the direction and supervision of the RN. Provides care to those patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized with predictable outcomes. Assists the RN and healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement initiatives and participates in performance improvement activities. Assumes responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Maintains competencies within practical nursing standards and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
Requirements: Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience in the medical/surgical area or a long-term care facility required. Experience with geriatrics preferred. BLS certification required. Licensed, or eligible for licensing in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Proficient in English required. Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.
Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited LPN School
