The Lead Social Worker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or an MSW who will work towards obtaining their LCSW. They will be responsible for oversight of social service component of the case management component of the clinical resource management department for ABSMC which means cross-campus. Since this position is cross campus, 60% of the time will work as staff in WIF, medical/surgical, and critical care. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) 1) formulating and implementing programs to meet the psychosocial needs of patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, as well as collaborative needs of the Clinical Resource Management department and subcomponent of case management system; 2) oversight of the development of quality outcome indicators for Social Work; and 3) carries responsibility for assigned units for direct clinical service to patients and families.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California or will work on obtaining their LCSW. Minimum four years postgraduate experienced in health field. Demonstrated leadership abilities, able to work in stressful situations, and possesses good oral/written communication skills. Age-specific job competencies. The following populations are served in this area: Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
Strong clinical skills in biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community resources. Knowledge of discharge planning and resource utilization strategies. Knowledge of child, elder, and dependent adult abuse and domestic violence reporting requirements and other significant regulations affecting clinical social work practice (conservatorships, Tarasoff, Lanterman Petris Short act). Knowledge of human growth and development necessary to provide age-specific assessment and interventions with the following populations-infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics. Knowledge of substance use and dependence assessment and interventions strategies. Knowledge and understanding of human behavior and communication, case management, and the influence of cultural and spiritual values in social work practice. Knowledge of the utilization management process which includes level of care, case facilitation, appropriate length of stay, and resource coordination.
