Summary
Regularly performs duties of Pharmacy Technician as needed. Coordinates schedules and changes of technicians to ensure continuous operation and timely delivery of services within established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Establishes priorities, assigns work, and monitors performance quality, and production of same. Assigns and reassigns work based on experience level and workload. Orients, trains and monitors performance of technicians within assigned area. Develops training programs and materials. Provides input into annual performance appraisals for technicians. Serves as resource and assists in resolution of routine problems. Oversees maintenance and updating of various records, databases, and systems to ensure accurate and complete data is recorded. Periodically audits information, reports variances, and makes changes as necessary. Prepares or oversees preparation of a variety of reoccurring and special reports and the like. Ensures work area and equipment are maintained in clean and operational condition. Oversees other administrative functions including participation into the development and implementation of departmental goals; supply ordering; scheduling; and the like for assigned area. Enters on-line charges for patient-care services; may also be assigned accountability for revenue reconciliation and for charge-error correction as specified by departmental process supporting hospital Revenue Policy.
Education
Ability to read and write; perform non-complex arithmetic calculations. This level is normally acquired through completion of a high school education. Approximately one year previous work experience at HFHS performing pharmacy technician duties to possess knowledge of the operations, procedures and processes of department. Completion of the Pharmacy Certified Technician (PCT) exam. Certification by the Michigan Pharmacists Association is also preferred.
