Laboratory Supervisor - Medical Technologist
Cambridge Biomedical, a specialized CRO that works with biotechnology, pharmaceutical and reference laboratories and specializes in assay development and validation, is seeking a working Laboratory Supervisor. Working closely with the Laboratory Manager the Laboratory Supervisor sets direction and allocates resources to assure that the laboratory meets the technical requirements of clients and regulatory agencies while maintaining a quality level that meets regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Supervising Laboratory staff - Developing and coordinating training programs for medical technologists - Managing Laboratory Documentation to assure all procedures and documents are technically correct - Spending time in laboratory to maintain a working knowledge of all assays. - Improving the overall efficiency of the laboratory - Taking an active role in dealing with employee suggestions - Coordinating with Laboratory Manager in setting performance standards for laboratory personnel - Participating in planning sessions - Ensuring completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines - Analyzing and resolving issues that have the potential to jeopardize performance and/or ability to meet agreed upon deliverables - Providing customer training and technology transfer - Allocating resources to assure that the laboratory meets production requirements while maintaining a quality level that meets regulatory requirements. - Assuring that all facets of people, equipment, documentation and procedures are compliant to all required regulatory agencies. - Developing programs to improve laboratory efficiency and reduce costs - Recruiting, training, reviewing and mentoring lab employees Position requires a BS in Medical Technology or related life science, National certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist with 5 or more years of experience supervising a diagnostic laboratory performing highly complex assays.
