Laboratory Information System Coordinator
Laboratory Information System Coordinator Department: Laboratory Schedule: Full time Shift: Day Shift Hours: Job Details: Summary of Job Duties The Laboratory Information System (LIS) Coordinator will supervise and maintain the Laboratory Information System and maintain the laboratory's general purpose and dedicated PC's including those associated with the Pathology office. The LIS Coordinator will insure the accuracy of information transmission across instrument interfaces, ADT and order interface, report interface, billing interface, and other peripheral communications. As a Clinical Lab Scientist or Medical Technologist will be able to recognize the interdependency of tests and have knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results. Must be knowledgeable of laboratory equipment and testing. Will be able to interpret quality control data and be able to correct errors following laboratory policies.
Qualifications & Requirements Certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize the following software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lab Information Systems Experience and knowledge in computer hardware and software preferred Five or more years of general laboratory experience in a hospital setting with previous LIS experience or supervisor, lead tech or lab manager experience necessary Possess management ability and ambition to cover supervisor duties
