Labor & Delivery Clinical Nurse Specialist Department: Labor and Delivery Schedule: Full-Time Shift: Rotating Hours: variable Job Details: * The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a Master's prepared nurse that assumes accountability for clinical care outcomes throughout the assimilation and application of researched based information to design, implement, and evaluate the clinical plan of care and system changes. She/he is the provider and manager of care in Labor and Delivery. She/he designs, implements, and evaluates patient care by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the care provided by the health care team, including registered nurses,OBtechnicians and secretaries.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in theDistrict of Columbia. Master's Degree in CNL, Education, or Advanced Practice. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Knowledge of legal implications of obstetrical service. Knowledge of requirements of Joint Commission Compliance. Intermediate to advance typing and computer skills. Ability to motivate team members to accomplish objectives when leading a project.
