University of Maryland University College?s Office of Information Technology is currently seeking an IT Business Manager to provide business and administrative support to Information Technology departments in the areas of procurement, resource planning, asset management, budget, and internal controls. The IT Business Manager will report to the Senior Director of Administration & Finance, and supervise three full-time exempt positions. Specific responsibilities include:
? Assisting the Senior Director of Finance and Administration in compliance with University of Maryland System and UMUC policies regarding procurement, P-Card transactions, and receiving and payment authorization of goods and services procured, asset inventory and other related duties
? Reconcile financial details of various accounts and project budgets for IT activities; monitor project accounts and prepare monthly financial reports for same; prepare monthly billing for telephony cost recoveries
? Interfacing with IT department heads and managers as well as other departments within UMUC, particularly Finance and Procurement regarding financial transactions
? Collaborating with IT department heads and IT administrative specialist to coordinate hardware and software support and maintenance renewals; developing and maintaining current inventory of hardware and software items under service and support agreements
? Coordinating software inventories and currency with IT department heads to ensure compliance of licensing terms and conditions
? Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in business and two (2) years of experience in finance, budget, or inventory work, or high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years experience in performing similar duties. Successful candidate must also have one (1) year of supervisory experience. Successful candidate must be able to independently with minimal direct supervision and apply policy and procedures correctly. Knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in the use of MS Office and ability to learn and develop expertise with other software that may be deployed in conjunction with work assignments. Ability to exercise sound judgment to achieve desired customer support levels and results.
