Stonington Institute began serving recovering alcoholics in 1957 as Starlight Farms, a working farm where adults in recovery were introduced to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. Today, we are the longest continually operating, free-standing, voluntary treatment facility in New England. Our main campus is located in North Stonington, CT, in its original private and peaceful rural setting. We have additional clinical sites in Groton, CT. Transportation and off-campus housing assistance make our programs and services accessible to a statewide clientele. Those programs include: medical detoxification, rehabilitation/residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment (both day and evening), and ambulatory detoxification. The Institute accepts private insurance, state-funded plans and self pay arrangements.
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the set up, inventory, and ordering of computers and related equipment/supplies for the organization. The IT Specialist maintains the integrity of and repairs voice/data networks, coordinates phone system upgrade and maintenance, maintains the Windows server environment, and serves as a "help desk" resource to users for software and hardware issues. Requirements
Associates degree in computer technology and/or significant experience with maintaining and upgrading computer software and hardware. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and have strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accountability for results. Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office programs. Experience with Avaya phone systems, Blackberry server, and radio equipment is preferred.
