Field Services Support
Overview
Optimize the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of sterilizing and related
equipment used for patient care by performing periodic inspections, preventative maintenance,
repairs and calibration on the above-stated equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair Skills:
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate sterilizing and related equipment according to schematic and verbal instructions, using tools and test instruments in accordance with manufacture specifications.
• Modify and implement system upgrades in accordance with manufacture specifications.
Equipment repair, troubleshooting, & pm will include sterilizers (primarily STERIS & Getinge); washers, OR surgical lights & OR surigical tables; Ultrasonic cleaners
PM/QA Scheduled Testing Skills:
• Expected to perform scheduled preventative maintenance and service calls both in and outside the local service area.
Accuracy: Documentation of Service and Record keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to date records of work performed and provide information to customers as needed.
• Acquire and provide information to prepare service contracts and follow the information written in service and warranty agreement.
. Equipment Management Skills: Data entry, database maintenance, equipment scheduling / classifications etc.
• Review warranty and incident investigation issues and return to Manager.
• Prepare reports as requested.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates of Applied Science in biomedical equipment technology or Associate of Applied Science in electronics or acceptable equivalent//Manufacturer or Military training preferred
- Computer literate
- Experience: At least three to five years working as a sterilizer FSE in a healthcare setting.
- Skills/Attributes: Ability to operate electronic and specialized test equipment; troubleshoot equipment faults; perform quality assurance testing on a variety of medical sterilizer equipment; interface with customers; manage and complete service documentation; work with little direct supervision and assist other FSE’s.
