Job Code: 23469 Facility: Doctors Hospital of Laredo Location: LAREDO, TX US Travel Involved: None Job Type: Part Time Job Level: Minimum Education Required: Certification Skills: Category: Support FTE: .5 Position Summary: Provides assistance to nurses in the Emergency Room with care to patients under the direct supervision of a nurse. 1) Ensures comfort and safety of patients at all times and answers all call bells promptly. 2) Transports patients to floors as needed or to and from vechicles as necessary. 3) Assists with activities of daily living and repositions patients per plan of care. 4) Takes vitals, accu checks, measures input/output, performs EKGs, lab draws, casting/splinting, start IVs, and weighs patients as required/ordered. 5) The tech is responsible for stocking supplies.
Requirements Current EMT-P Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Equipment: Vital sign monitoring equipment, patient transporting/lifting equipment, computers, glucometers, weight scales, specialty beds, suction devices, phone, fax/copier/scanner, traction equipment.
