EKG Technician - Specialty Department: EKG Services Schedule: Full Time Shift: Varies Hours: maybe require 2) 6p-6a and 1) 6a-6p shifts Job Details: * High School/GED * Functions primarily as a Cardiology Lab Technician. Performs EKG's, Holter, Event, and Blood Pressure monitor hookups. Basic secretarial skills include typing, filing, answering telephones and scheduling appointments. A wide range of Cardiology terminology, along with a basic understanding of cardiac rhythms and abnormalities, is required in order to perform this job. The scope of care includes age groups ranging from newborn to elderly. The Cardiology Lab Tech complies with standards of practice; assists with patient care activities; helps maintain supplies and equipment; and collaborates with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs. Needs good communication and interpersonal skills. This position will care for patients in the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
High school graduate. Maintain BCLS ferred Certified Cardiology Technician.1-2 years EKG experience preferred.
