JOB POSTING # 670029 Position: Drug Strategy Specialist Site: UHN corporate Department: Pharmacy Reports to: Director Hours: 37.5 hours per week Status: PFT (Permanent Full Time) With the primary goal of identifying new and expanding existing Outpatient (OP) pharmacy prescription revenues for UHN OP Pharmacies across three sites (TGH, TWH and PMH), the OP Pharmacy Coordinator - Specialty Drug Strategy holds a key responsibility in the development and implementation of clinical and professional OP pharmacy services that are funded by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and/or linked to Specialty Drugs. Develops and implements new clinical and professional OP pharmacy services funded by the MOH and/or linked to Specialty Drugs. Participation in the development and implementation of quality initiatives including new clinical and professional OP pharmacy services; Acting as a spokesperson for Outpatient Pharmacy, building relationships with clinicians and administrators affiliated with UHN ambulatory care programs and the external community; Performing educational responsibilities; assisting with budgeting and other financial responsibilities; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or requested Develops and implements new clinical and professional OP pharmacy services funded by the MOH and/or linked to Specialty Drugs. Participates in the OP pharmacy strategic planning process Provides OP clinical pharmacy services and maintains clinical competencies. Performs corporate responsibilities by maintaining appropriate internal and external linkages with other hospitals, the retail pharmacy sector, the Ontario College of Pharmacists and other professional associations. Performs budgeting/financial responsibilities by assisting with the preparation of capital and operational budgets Qualifications - At minimum, completion of a bachelors degree in Science degree in Pharmacy form an accredited program of study or recognized experience - Completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred or equivalent experience. - Completion of Business related program. - Completion of post-graduate Pharmacy degree (e.g. clinical Master’s degree or Doctor of Pharmacy) preferred. - Pharmacy practice in a Hospital setting, involving a patient-focused clinical specialty, required and experience in the hospital ambulatory setting preferred. - Retail pharmacy experience is an set. - Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience preferred. - Certificate of qualification from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada required. - Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required. - Professional Society Membership relevant to Hospital Pharmacy (e.g. ACCP, CSHP) preferred
