The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for financial viability, operational effectiveness and efficiency, quality improvement strategies and cycles, human and technological resources management, and operational cohesiveness with other divisions. . Responsible for performance improvement, customer service, effective teamwork, financial outcomes, and performance metrics. . Accountable for department's annual and longer-term fiscal planning and performance against budgets, capital allocations, savings, and revenue goals. . Translates Genesys strategies and critical success factors into action plans supported through objective measures in collaboration with Managers and Directors of other departments. . Monitors performance of management and staff against action plans and objectives and offers support and corrective interventions when deviations occur. . Nurtures relationships and prevents troubled relationships between staff, management, patients, and physician leadership. . Develops project plans to add/delete services that add to operating margin, improved patient outcomes, operating efficiency, and/or reduction in risk. . Provides leadership and direction to all staff through rounding, role modeling, mentoring, team building, and a one-on-one coaching. . Fosters an environment of empowerment and innovation among Managers and Directors of other departments/divisions. . Embraces change and assists all staff in understanding and acceptance of change. . Accountable for department's operations performance against best practices, Ascension dashboard requirements, process improvement metrics, external data reporting requirements, and reimbursement standards. . Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with physicians, patients, families, visitors, staff, and management team. . Assure compliance with successful outcomes as prescribed by all State, Federal, and regulatory agencies. . Serves as the primary Genesys Health System representative and liaison to Genesys Health System affiliates, Ascension Health and community activities regarding pharmacy practice. Provides counsel to Genesys Health System executives to interpret all pharmaceutical rules and regulations and recommends specific actions for compliance. Minimum Qualifications: . Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and an advanced degree in Hospital Pharmacy, Health Administration, or Business Administration. . Must possess current Michigan licensure and a controlled substance license as a Registered Pharmacist. . Four years management experience in hospital pharmacy practice. . Must possess administrative, managerial, and analytical skills necessary to lead and direct the Pharmacy.
