In continuing our dedication to improving the health of the communities we serve, the John Muir Home Health Services team has an opening for aDirector of Patient Care Services. Based at theJohn Muir Medical Centerat ourWalnut Creek, CA campus- named one ofAmerica's Best Hospitals 2008by U.S. News & World Report,plus it is the only center in the East Bay to achieveMagnetrecognition status by the ANCCfor excellence in nursing services and quality nursing care.

The Director oversees a team of registered nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, medical social workers, dieticians and certified home health aides. They implement the assessing, evaluating, educating and treating of our homebound patients, from infants to seniors, in the comfort and safety of their place of residence in Contra Costa plus parts of Alameda and Solano counties. Services delivered are based on physician's order and include skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, medical social work, and certified home health aide/personal care. In addition, John Muir Home Health works closely with Lumetra, a Quality Improvement Organization that actively participates in national home health comparison surveys and we are proud to acknowledge that we consistently rank favorably when compared to other home health agencies.

The ideal candidate must have: a current California RN license with a baccalaureate and masters degree in nursing or other health-related field; three years of experience (within the last five years) in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, one year of which in a supervisory or administrative capacity; CPR certification; a valid California Driver's License and current automobile insurance; the ability to handle emergency or crisis situations and deal effectively with stress; and an adeptness for promoting a harmonious atmosphere within the agency, health system and community.
