DIRECTOR OF OPERATING ROOM
SUMMARY:
The director is responsible for the overall effective operation of his/her department(s) to ensure organization goals and objectives are achieved.
The Operating Room Director will oversee:

12 OR suites with expansion going on
7000 cases per year and growing
Texas Institute for rently have 3 daVinci Robots and world renown surgeons
General surgery, Neurosurgery, ortho, renal transplants, Cardiovascular, open heart surgery, Bariatric surgery
Ambulatory Day Surgery - 22 beds
PACU - 20 beds
Sterile Processing
Knowledge & Skills:
Establishes priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. They interface directly with administration, physicians, public, staff, and all members of the health care team. The Director represents unit and administration. Regular and predictable attendance is required. He/she must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and North Austin Medical Center.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing; minimum of 8 years surgical services nursing experience
Preferred: 3-5 years management experience
Credentials:
Required: Texas RN license; BLS Certification
Preferred: CNOR
