Job Description Responsible for directing, planning, organizing, and administering the hospitals capital construction projects, facility operations, equipment operations, maintenance activities, physical plant, biomedical services, EVS, Parking, Security and all other outside related vendors; and well as any other related responsibilities or duties assigned. Plans, organizes, evaluates and directs the maintenance of buildings, hospital equipment and grounds. Meets and coordinates with Architects, Engineers and Contractors for all aspects of construction management. Reviews plan specifications and safety requirements and contract documents for repair or remodeling and new construction of facilities to ensure conformance with safety requirements, building codes along with policy and budget directives. Supervises distribution of all utilities. Assures continued maintenance of hospital equipment; plans, schedules, and oversees major repair projects and develops and maintains the preventive maintenance program; and oversees the management of Safety and the Environment of Care of this institution. Prepares department budget, monitors and controls expenditures of allotted funds and operations for cost effectiveness. Oversees the Assent Director of Facility’s, Assistant Director of EVS, Emergency Preparedness, Manager, Maintenance Manager, Chief Plant Operations Manager, Bio-medical Services Manager; and any other related Managers assigned. Oversees and directs departmental activities to ensure quality services for both internal and external customers. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with others to advance the hospital mission. Have 7-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day "bottom line" responsibility for a significant component of the hospital's operations. Accountable for financial operations and implementation of hospital (and service line) goals within their area of responsible. Participate in strategic planning for the hospital and/or service line of which they are a part.
Skills/Requirements A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: B. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Engineering or other related field preferred; or equivalent training and experience. C. Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role in the healthcare facility services field; successful completion of a JCAHO survey; and experience with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding healthcare facilities.. D. Special qualifications: Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period. Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups. Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. E. Hours of work: 24 hour/7days per week on-call responsibility.
