JOB DESCRIPTION:
Director of Clinical Practice & Education

Position Summary:
Directs the development, implementation, and evaluation of Nursing Standards, Quality Assessment Monitors and Performance Improvement Activities within the PCS department. Ensures compliance with regulatory and professional standards and recommendations that guide practice. Directs clinical education and the integration of clinical education across disciplines and departments. Works within the department and as an integral part of the Center's leadership team to monitor and improve the quality of patient care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience :
Minimum 7 years clinical nursing experience and 3 years nursing management and/or education experience required.

Education :
Bachelors degree in nursing required. Masters degree preferred.

Required License / Credentials :
NJ State Nursing License

Other Required Skills :
Critical thinking, analytical thinking, excellent interpersonal skills, basic computer skills.

Contact With Others :
Regular internal and external contacts involving tact, discretion and persuasion in order to obtain information and / or willing action or consent.

Supervision Given :
Supervises and coordinates education, quality and performance improvement activities within the PCS department. Has primary responsibility for directing and supervising clinical educators.

Supervision Received :
Uses own initiative in handling intra-departmental and the majority of interdepartmental matters, consulting with the Chief Nurse Executive only in instances of policy changes.
