Dietitian - Food and Nutrition (MHB) Department: Nutritional Services Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days w/ weekend & holiday rotation Hours: starting between 7a-9a, ending between 3p-5p Job Grade: E06 Union Job: No Job Details: * Dietician - Food and Nutrition (MercyHospitalofBuffalo):Collaborates with members of the Health Care Team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition education. Identifies patients at nutrition risk and assesses nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs. Develops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of MNT intervention. REPORTS TO:Chief Clinical Dietitian
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the work of the Diet Technician, Nutrition Office Clerk and mentors dietetic interns and students.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM): EDUCATION:· BS Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited educational program plus successful completion of an internship or equivalent clinical and management practice which would qualify for Professional Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. · Active and on-going Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. · Active and on-going membership in The American Dietetic Association (to be obtained within one year from the date of hire). · Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) with The New York State Department of Education (to be obtained within one year from date of hire).
EXPERIENCE: · One (1) year acute care clinical experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: · May be required to participate in evening nutrition education classes · Must have basic computer skills
WORKING CONDITIONS: · Travel between Catholic Health System facilities may be required · Walking, sitting and standing
