Weekend Required: Yes Holidays Required: Yes Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Diagnostic Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. Diagnostic testing includes X-ray, cat scan, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, mammography, interventional procedures and mobile mammography.
The Diagnostic Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.
This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS: LICENSE: Licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection for all modalities except and Ultrasound. ARDMS is required for Ultrasound.
EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. State License expires end of each year and must be renewed annually to work. ARRT expires on incumbents date of birth and must be renewed to work.
