Job Posting Title Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist City and State Brainerd, MN Department NURSING SERVICE (NURSV) Physical Location (building) ST JOSEPH'S MEDICAL CENTER Auto req ID 9352BR Job Description The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) acts as a clinical expert in the diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the delivery of evidence-based nursing interventions. The CNS is an expert in executing delegated medical regimens associated with the diagnosis and treatment of disease for a specialty population. The CNS functions independently to provide theory and evidence-based care to patients in their attainment of health goals. Acting within three spheres of influence: patient care, nursing practice, and the healthcare system environment, the CNS designs innovative evidence-based interventions, works with other nurses to advance their nursing practice and improve outcomes, and provides clinical expertise to effect system wide changes to improve programs of care.
Education:Masters degree in advance practice nursing.
Licensure/Certification:Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota. Current national certification as CNS. Current certification as American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
Knowledge and skills:Demonstrated ability to provide high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. Highly developed analytical critical thinking and/or organizational skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills.
