Coding Specialist NHP - Medicare (5046) Department: (3355) Medicare Advantage PPO Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day shift Hours: 8o hrs/pp. Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm Job Details: - Associates degree is preferred - Licensure Preferred - Experience is required Job Summary: Applies specified coding methodology to benefit application and claims payment. Resource for claims and coding issues related to the Medicare products at NHP. Provides decision support, all compliance auditing and analysis related to claims payment, benefit configuration in all software programs and CMS and OCI compliance requirements. Provides decision, research and analysis support to Medicare Customer service and Providers. Job Requirements: Registered Health Information Technician certified or equivalent Medicare work experience required; Certified Coding Specialist (CCS or CPC) preferred with experience or able to obtained within 2 years. Minimum 3 years of claims adjudication experience. Medicare claims and coding experience preferred. Excellent communication and decision making skills. Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of Federal and State mandates and regulations related to claims and coding. Medical Terminology knowledge and understanding. Excellent attention to detail and follow through. Strong commitment to excellence in customer service with both external and internal customers.
