Performs coding of all In-patient and AMB medical records using ICD-9-CM, CPT & SMART software. Must have good, strong communication and writing skills.
EDUCATION:Coding classes at Accredited Program or College and/or Certified Coding Specialist or CCS candidate. Read and understand medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, knowledge of disease process and to read and write English well.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of two years of coding experience ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes in acute care facility. Requires strong verbal and writing skills in interpersonal situations; strong verbal and writing communications; strong organization skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fully computerized environment. Basic understanding of computer applications, and familiarization with Window XP. Knowledge in the use of 3M is a plus.
