Authorized Hours - Minimum: Per Two Weeks 80 Authorized Hours - Maximum: Per Two Weeks 80 Work Hours: Work Hours/Schedule (For Example: 7:00am-3:30pm or Every other weekend) 8:30-5PM Primary Function: & Major Responsibilities Provide professional, quality medical care to patients and quality support to medical staff in outpatient services while functioning within the scope of practice for a Certified Medical Assistant. This position will be working with a Physician Assistant and will require covering the LAB on a "as needed" basis.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.
Escorts patients to appropriate exam room and documents history in accordance with established outpatient procedures. Performs efficient hand off communication to provider.
Provides telephone data collection as requested under the direction of an RN or provider.
Completes patient history forms as required.
Complies with Safety and Infection Control policies to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with OSHA standards.
Prepares and distributes patient education materials as needed.
Processes prescription refill requests.
Processes patient referrals as indicated per site.
Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Successful completion of accredited Medical Assistant program and must have current certification.
Experience: 1-2+ years experience preferred.
